Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Federal Student Aid, an office of the U.S. Department of Education, ensures that all eligible individuals can benefit from federally funded or federally guaranteed financial assistance for education beyond high school. We consistently champion the promise of postsecondary education to all Americans —and its value to our society.
Federal Student Aid plays a central and essential role in supporting postsecondary education by providing money for college to eligible students and families. We partner with postsecondary schools, financial institutions and others to deliver services that help students and families who are paying for college.
Today, Federal Student Aid performs a range of critical functions that include, among others:
- Educating students and families on the process of obtaining aid;
- Processing millions of student financial aid applications each year;
- Disbursing billions of dollars in aid funds to students through schools;
- Enforcing financial aid rules and regulations;
- Servicing millions of student loan accounts, and securing repayment from borrowers who have defaulted on their loans; and
- Operating information technology systems and tools that manage billions in student aid dollars.

Scholarships & Fellowships
Undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships are forms of aid that help students pay for their educations. Unlike loans, they do not have to be repaid. Scholarship criteria vary. Generally, scholarships and fellowships are reserved for students with special qualifications, such as academic, athletic or artistic talent. Awards are also available for students who are interested in particular fields of study, who live in certain areas of the country or who demonstrate financial need.
Endowed scholarship and fellowship funds are made possible by the generosity of our friends and alumni. As permanent funds, they are critical to the University of Florida because they generate predictable, growing streams of income in perpetuity.
Moreover, scholarships and fellowships provide great encouragement to our students - financially and emotionally. Students who have received these scholarships often note that this help came at a time when they were unsure they could be able to continue their studies. Simply knowing that someone cared enough to contribute financially to support them renewed their sense of purpose and commitment to their educations.
After graduating, many UF students go on to successful careers and are eager to "repay" their alma mater for the help they received. In creating student assistance funds, they not only strengthen our school by enabling UF to recruit the best and brightest students from around the world - they also show students the value of philanthropy and the joy of helping others.
Through the generosity of our donors, generations of scholars for years to come will be able to receive financial assistance to pursue their academic goals. We would like to pay tribute to these donors here, as well as list their scholarship fund criteria and application information.

Scholarship Experts
ScholarshipExperts.com...In the Making
Early in the year 2000, a group of concerned education professionals, parents, and students met to discuss how to better serve the needs of college undergraduate and graduate students and college-bound high school seniors as they look for ways to pay for their education.
After taking a close look at several scholarship search sites already available on the Internet, we recognized that many of those services do not provide quality results. Often the search results generated on those sites are riddled with outdated and inaccurate information, and often the results do not match the student profiles.
Another issue of concern when evaluating the existing sites was privacy. Although the use of profile-matching technology when searching for scholarships requires users to submit personal information, we were troubled that many of the free scholarship search services then sell or distribute students' personal information without offering students the option to control when and to whom their personal information was shared.
And so, having seen first-hand how difficult (and risky!) it is for parents and students to find genuine leads for scholarship possibilities, we agreed that there must be a way to help. We figured that with the right technology and search processes and the right system for research and data entry, a secure, time-saving and accurate scholarship search service could be built. We then decided to build a ScholarshipExperts.com--an Internet service that could quickly provide accurate and tailored scholarship search results without compromising the privacy of students and parents.
ScholarshipExperts.com...Presently
After several years of development and constant refinement, we are pleased to continue offering ScholarshipExperts.com, a fast, easy and free way to find scholarships on the Internet. ScholarshipExperts.com delivers accurate and timely search results that have been filtered and customized to match unique user profiles.
The time-saving services offered by ScholarshipExperts.com can be attributed to the talents and dedication of our Data Research Team as well as to the technical expertise with which our site and our database were created.
ScholarshipExperts.com believes that the accuracy of the records housed in our award database is the cornerstone upon which our service is built, and so we have carefully created a successful data management and research process. This team works closely with scholarship providers to ensure that students using our site receive current and accurate scholarship information--and the scholarships in our database have been submitted or verified by the actual award providers.
Also, using a team of experienced developers and scholarship professionals, the ScholarshipExperts.com site and database have been carefully crafted, resulting in sophisticated search tools and data management systems that make ScholarshipExperts.com a useful matching service and resource for finding scholarships. ScholarshipExperts.com is proud to deliver fast and tailored scholarship search results and up-to-date information to help students and parents find additional ways to pay for college!

The Scholarship Page!
The Scholarship Page! TM started in 1997 out of frustration. I was looking for scholarships because I was flat broke (even though I worked part-time), and my parents could not afford to support me while I was in school. I actually had to take a semester off from school because of sickness caused by stress... most likely caused by lack of money. I used that semester to look for scholarships online and could not find any scholarship searches that didn't charge. In compiling the information I found, I thought it would be a helpful resource to other students and decided to make the information available online for everyone to see.
Since I was going to school to study Electrical Engineering, the site started out with mainly engineering scholarships, but it has grown since, and I hope that it will continue to grow.
